The Union H.S. Indoor Drumline returned from Dayton, Ohio on Sunday afternoon after performing in three rounds of the World Championship of competitive drumlines on Thursday/Friday/Saturday, bringing home a Silver Medal! Participating alongside 200+ ensembles from around the country, and competing against 41 other ensembles in the WGI Percussion Scholastic Open Classification, Union finished in 3rd Place in the Preliminary Round & 2nd Place in the Semifinal Round, and earned a Final score of 96.775, including a perfect 100 in the Musicianship-Effect category of adjudication. After nearly 30 years of participation in WGI marching events, 2023 marks Union’s strongest-ever finish and its first-ever medal.
