Intern Nuñez Performs with Saxophone Quartet
Akōtu Quartet: Brianna Buck, AJ Nguyen, Abraham Nuñez, and Matthew Floeter.
Union Bands Spring Semester 2021 Intern Mr. Abraham Nuñez, Music Education Major at Oklahoma State University, is scheduled to perform with colleagues of the Akōtu Saxophone Quartet in the ‘Senior Mixed Instrumental Division’ at the Austin Chamber Music Center event entitled the Coltman Chamber Music Competition Virtual Showdown.
Performances of the event’s competing groups are scheduled to begin via livestream at 2:00pm on Saturday, March 6, with the Akōtu Quartet appearing at 2:19pm. Viewing of the event is free of charge, however registration is required.
In addition to prescribed accolades that will be presented to winners of this competition, the event is also awarding a People’s Choice Award, so anyone viewing will be allowed to vote for a winner. HINT: Union Bands would love for everyone to vote for the Akōtu Quartet 😉. Voting will be held online from 3:38-3:48pm, and at 3:53pm the People’s Choice Prize winner will be announced.

Renegade Regiment and Tulsa Signature Symphony Team Up for Performance
We are proud to announce that The Tulsa Signature Symphony and The Union High School Renegade Regiment are scheduled to appear together in concert on Friday, April 23, 2021 (rain date Saturday, April 24) at Union’s Tuttle Stadium for a springtime outdoor performance.
