On Monday, November 9, 2026 Union Senior band and guard students will be recognized as part of the Union Renegade Regiment Grand Nationals Send-Off performance event.
The recognition will take place at approximately 7:45pm.
BEFORE THE RECOGNITION EVENT
Senior band families will meet and line up in alphabetical order (by senior student's last name) beginning at 7:15pm in the Union H.S. Bus Loop Lobby (the tall glass-walled building along the east face of Union H.S.)
Each senior/family will be assigned a specific location to be occupied during the halftime recognition. A map of the assigned locations will be issued to each family prior to entering the stadium.
ON THE FIELD
Each senior's name and the names of up to two of his/her/their parent(s) /guardian(s) will be announced over the loudspeaker. Seniors may be accompanied on the field by additional guests (family members, close friends), but only the names of the senior & up to two parent(s)/guardian(s) will be announced aloud.
Before entering the field, Seniors will each be given a rose to carry. When the student's name is announced, traditionally the student hands the rose to their mother or other special loved one.
While on the field, our designated band photographer will snap a quick picture, so please squeeze together, look forward and smile! Pictures will be available for free download approximately one week following the event.
At the conclusion of the recognition, Seniors will remain on the field for the halftime performance. Family members will exit the field by turning to the north (right) and proceeding out of the stadium, exiting at the northwest gate.
RECEPTION
Following the conclusion of the Renegade Regiment performance, all Union Bands Seniors and their families are invited to a reception in the UHS Bus Loop Lobby to mingle and enjoy refreshments. Students will remain in uniform/costume for this reception.
ATTIRE
Suggested attire for family members or others joining for this event is business casual or nicer.
