Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, performances by all 2020 Macy*s Thanksgiving Day Parade marching bands have been deferred to 2021. In short, this means that Union’s trip to New York for November 2020 is canceled.
All registrations for students and approved chaperones are now considered void and student accounts have been fully credited for any and all trip fees paid thus far. More financial information is available below.
We are honored to have been re-invited by Macy*s for the 2021 event, and with student health and safety remaining our highest priority, we are hopeful that global health conditions will permit travel for all of the 2020 bands, and particularly for Union students, next year.
More information about the 2021 Trip, including itineray and registration process, will be shared as soon as possible.
Financial Information for Students & Approved Chaperones
All students and approved chaperones originally registered for the 2020 Macy*s Trip will receive a full credit for any amounts previously applied to trip fees. This credit will be applied to the CHARMS Miscellaneous Ledger.
Families have two options for Student Account Macy*s Trip Credit:
Option 1: Leave the credit balance in the student's CHARMS account to be applied to future band or trip fees.
Option 2: Request a refund check.
• Refunds will be calculated based on cash / check / credit card payments previously received that were applied to Macy's student or chaperone trip fees.
• Any fundraising credits applied to Macy*s trip fees are not eligible for refund via bank-check, but will be reapplied to the CHARMS account as a credit to use for future band or trip fees.
Please allow up to 4 weeks for your refund request to be fully processed.
